Principal's Message

Dear Cherrywood Parents and Students,
It’s hard to believe another school year is wrapping up this week. The days seem to have flown by this year. I can’t believe our first classes of Mandarin Immersion Kindergartners will be promoting on Thursday with our 5th grade class. It has been amazing to watch all of our 5th graders grow and develop into the young people they have become. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help out with 5th Grade End of the Year fun week that started today with tie dying t-shirts and an ice cream social. We hope this week will help launch our fifth graders off to middle school with fond Cherrywood memories. We are so proud of the Class of 2024!!

Last Friday night, HSC hosted an amazing end of the year celebration for our children as we celebrated International Children’s Day as a school community with Family Sports Night. Thank you to all who participated in a softball game, ultimate frisbee game, basketball game, relay races, flag football game, blacktop games and more! There was definitely an active buzz all around the blacktop and field. A special thank you once again to Phuong Nguyen for leading this event, Jeannie Kwong for organizing the food, and our CLIMB leaders for helping with some of the black top games. Most importantly, family events such as this are organized to just enjoy being in community. Hands down, we have one of the most active school communities in Berryessa without a doubt thanks to our amazing parent volunteers! Our goal this year was that every family attend at least one family event for the year; it seems like we were very close to reaching our goal this year after this family event. Great job Cherrywood Chargers!

As summer is here, I wish everyone a safe and relaxing summer! Remember to have your student read every day and practice their math facts so they will be ready for a new school year to start on August 15, 2024.
